~Where Legends from the past are brewn anew~

quirks and fun facts of Pokemon Red and blue

AN-Some of these may be obvious to older gamers, but not to those who became fans later in the years. Some still apply to Yellow. Yellow may also have fixed some of the quirks, but I'm sure you can still find some of the small glitches and mess-ups.

If your Pokemon entered battle when its HP was in the red, its cry would be that of a different Pokemon. When I did this with a Metapod, it had Gastly's cry.  Mew's is a Staryu or Starmie. I might make a list of these sometime (that means bug me if you want to see it!).

The strategy guide actually states that Pokemon see their trainers as companions or friends, and not masters. AAP point proved.

There was no Special Attack or Special Defense in Red and Blue, It was only Special.

The strategy guide says that Confusion causes no damage and may confuse the target. Major typo.

The strategy guide also says that Dream Eater puts the foe to sleep AND drains it's health. Also wrong.

Despite what Red and Blue's guide says, there are no such things as Super Balls.

In Yellow, you cannot evolve your Pikachu normally. You must first trade it away to use the fateful Thunderstone.

Apparently, the strategy guide believes that Tail Whip does damage, at least, when Nidoqueen uses it.

The entire Nido family is based off of rodents, no matter how loosely.

No one ever finds out why all the guards blocking Saffron City are so thirsty.

Muk has no feet, but its footprints are poisonous.
